Episode #15 // Rachele Pojednic, PhD, EdM // Founder of Strong Process Forum // The Science Behind Wellness

Hi friends!!

Today we're back with an amazing episode for your weekend, featuring one of the most accomplished women we know.

Rachele Pojednic, PhD, EdM is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Simmons College and a former research fellow at the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, Harvard Medical School. She is also the founder of the Strong Process Forum, a one day Boston-based wellness conference that includes three curated panels of scientists, farmers, journalists, athletes, clinicians and innovators designed to integrate evidence based knowledge into the health and wellness space. Dr. Pojednic received her PhD from the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy in Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition & Exercise Physiology. Dr. Pojednic has also been an active member of the fitness industry and cycling community for the past 15 years and is a Specialized Women's Ambassador as well as an indoor cycling instructor at Flywheel Sports in Boston. She has been a consultant and writer for several organizations, including Self, Shape, Women's Health, Runners World, Boston Magazine, Joy Bauer and the Today Show and Huffington Post Healthy Living Blog.  She also recently launched her own podcast, Intuitive Medicine (it's so good - definitely check it out!)

Sooo...I mean, where do we even start, right? With a bio like that, we had sooooo much to cover in this episode! Rachele is almost *positively* part super-woman and was so much fun to talk to.

In this episode we talk about...

Her journey from teaching to pursuing her PhD. at Tufts;

The inspiration that sparked the Strong Process forum held in Boston;

Her attitude towards wellness (and some MAJOR reality checks!);

Some myth-busting of popular wellness trends, and what is ACTUALLY happening in your body (hint hint - charcoal is not alllll it's cracked up to be);

Her amazing new podcast, and how she vibes with her co-host;

The masculine energy in Boston, and how she keeps it from wearing her down.

We guarantee that you're going to want to take some notes on this one! It's a gem, and we couldn't be more grateful to Rachele for taking the time to record with us. We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments or on our Instagram @detoxandchillpodcast.  Don't forget to rate and review...it helps so much!
